World No Tobacco Day Event to be Held at Steamtown Mall

The Northeast Regional Cancer Institute, in conjunction with Tobacco Free Northeast PA, will host a World No Tobacco Day Awareness Event on May 31st at the Steamtown Mall in Scranton.

World No Tobacco Day is a national event that occurs annually to alert the world about the impact of tobacco use on youth and adults. Locally, luminaries representing lives lost due to tobacco-related illness will be displayed in an empty storefront in the Steamtown Mall from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Students from United Neighborhood Center’s Leaders in Training program will also hand out information on the dangers of tobacco use and on smoking cessation resources from 6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
