Volleyball Tournament Raises Money for Cancer
Committee members from the Nancy McCormick Volleyball Tournament recently presented a check for $4,000 to the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute.
The tournament is hosted each year at Dunmore High School during Memorial Day Weekend by a group of family and friends of the late Nancy McCormick. Nancy was a teacher, loving wife, and mother of five who died from colon cancer. This is the 8th year for the event.
A portion of proceeds from the tournament support the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute’s Patient Navigation Program. The Patient Navigation Program helps low income, uninsured, and underinsured individuals in northeast Pennsylvania receive necessary breast, cervical, and colon cancer screenings.
To date, the tournament has raised approximately $27,000 for the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute. The Cancer Institute invests 100% of its resources locally.
