Partner Spotlight: The Wright Center for Community Health

This summer, NRCI had the opportunity to collaborate with The Wright Center for Community Health and Lackawanna Valley Dermatology to host a skin cancer screening for the community.

Information related to skin cancer in multiple languages was given to participants, specifically risks for skin cancer, how to reduce skin cancer risk, how to do a self-examination, types of skin cancer-including photos and diagnostic tests and treatment options.  Additionally, NRCI staff also had the opportunity to discuss NRCI’s Cancer Screening Navigation Program with The Wright Center for Community Health staff in attendance.  Through our long collaboration with The Wright Center for Community Health, we have worked with thousands of Wright Center patients to assist with removing barriers to screening for breast, cervical, colon and lung cancer.

The Wright Center for Community Health is headquartered in Scranton. The Wright Center’s growing network of community health centers in Lackawanna, Luzerne, Wayne, and Wyoming counties, including a mobile medical and dental unit called Driving Better Health, provides affordable, high-quality, whole-person primary health services to everyone, regardless of their insurance status, ZIP code, or ability to pay. Patients typically have the convenience of going to a single location to access integrated medical, dental, and behavioral health care, as well as community-based addiction treatment and recovery services.
