Northeast Regional Cancer Institute Announces Staff Promotions
The Northeast Regional Cancer Institute’s President, Karen Saunders, recently announced a staffing change within the organization approved by the Board of Directors.
Trudy A. Coleman, Ph.D., CTR, of Avoca, retired on June 30, 2018, as the Cancer Program Manager. Dr. Coleman has extensive experience in cancer data collection and retrieval, cancer registry management, registrar training, and education, research design, project management, and data analysis. She was first certified as a cancer registrar in 1988 and in 1992 earned a master’s degree in healthcare administration from the University of Scranton. She has managed all aspects of several American College of Surgeons approved hospital registries, including two or more patient care evaluation studies annually. Upon completing her doctorate in Human Development and Health Promotion at Marywood University in 2003, Dr. Coleman was an epidemiologist/data analyst for several ongoing epidemiologic studies. She also worked with Cigna Health and the VA Medical Center and was previously the director of the regional cancer registry at the Cancer Institute from 1995 to 2002. During the past three years, Trudy has been the Cancer Program Manager leading several hospital partners through ACoS CoC Surveys, including the first Integrated Cancer Network Program accreditation survey in April of this year.
Nicole Cruciani, MBA, of Forty Fort, has been hired as Cancer Program Manager. She is responsible for managing the cancer programs at our various partnering facilities and hospitals and ensuring they fulfill the necessary requirements to become an accredited cancer program through The American College of Surgeons (ACoS) Commission on Cancer (CoC). Nicole has received her MBA with specializations in Healthcare Management, Enterprise Resource Planning and SAP Enterprise Software Solutions, and a B.S. in Marketing from The University of Scranton. Prior to her role at the Cancer Institute, Nicole was the assistant office manager in a local Rheumatology practice. She also had experience as a trade marketing specialist with a New England based soup company, and as a sales associate with the Kraft Foods Group.
