Danielle Zadzura presents the President of the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute, Karen Saunders, with a donation for $663.14.

Danielle Zadzura, a senior at North Pocono High School, recently donated $663.14 to the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute as part of her senior project.

Danielle arranged a cancer benefit at Kay’s Italian Restaurant in October 2014 where she was able to receive 10% of the proceeds from their sales. In addition to this, Danielle asked local businesses to donate items for a basket raffle. Danielle and her friends even made several baskets.

To entice guests to the event, Danielle was able to include flyers in pizza boxes and posted flyers through her community. Plus, her high school principal granted permission for her event to be posted on the school’s website.

Danielle chose to donate to the Cancer Institute due to her personal experience with cancer touching family members close to her. She wanted to give back to help those fighting cancer in our area and it was important to her that the money stayed locally.

Thank you, Danielle, for helping so we can continue to ease the burden of cancer in northeastern Pennsylvania.
