Local Program for Healthcare Professionals to Focus on National Lung Screening TrialThe Northeast Regional Cancer Institute and Community Medical Center will present an upcoming program for healthcare professionals focusing on the National Lung Screening Trial. Aseracare Hospice is also supporting the program through an educational grant.

“Overview of the Design and Preliminary Results of the National Lung Screening Trial” will take place on October 29th, 2011 from 9 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. at The Commonwealth Medical College Scranton campus, with broadcasts of the program at the College’s Wilkes-Barre and Williamsport campuses as well. Drew A. Torigian, MD, MA, Principal Investigator of the National Lung Screening Trial from the University of Pennsylvania, will serve as the keynote speaker.
