Carbondale Area Elementary School Supports Cancer Institute
Carbondale Area Elementary School recently participated in C.A.S.U.A.L. (Colon Cancer Awareness Saves Unlimited Adult Lives) Day, a program hosted by the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute to raise awareness about colon cancer and the importance of screening and early detection. This event is in memory of Helen Phillips, a woman who fought a courageous battle against colon cancer.
Students, faculty, and staff of the school raised $1,000 and awareness for the Cancer Institute. All proceeds from C.A.S.U.A.L. Day support the ongoing efforts by the Cancer Institute to raise awareness about colorectal cancer risk factors and the importance of screening in northeastern Pennsylvania.
