Cancer Institute Welcomes Regula, Farrell, Belleman & Aquilina to Board of Directors
Jackie Brozena, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute, recently announced the appointments of John Regula, Timothy Farrell, M.D., Mindy Torbik-Belleman and Anthony Aquilina, D.O. to the Board of Directors.
Mindy Torbik-Belleman MS, RN, is the Chief Nursing Officer at the Regional Hospital of Scranton. Prior to this position, Mindy has worked with a variety of hospitals within the region. She received a master’s degree in Human Resources Administration from the University of Scranton and a bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration from St. Joseph’s College in Maine. She earned her Nursing Diploma from Pittston Hospital of Nursing. Mindy has over 35 years of experience in the healthcare industry.
John Regula currently serves as the Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Allied Services of Pennsylvania. He provides guidance and leadership in the selection and implementation of innovative information and telecommunications solutions. Prior to joining Allied Services, John held Information Technology leadership positions with Greater Hazleton Health Alliance (Hazleton-St. Joseph’s and Hazleton General Hospital) and Community Medical Center. He holds a masters degree in Organizational Management from Misericordia University and two undergraduate degrees (Information Systems from the University of Scranton and Computer Science from the Pennsylvania State University). John is also an active member of CHIME and HIMSS.
Timothy J. Farrell, M.D., is a General Surgeon at Northeastern Surgical Specialists PC. He received a bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Scranton and a doctorate from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. Dr. Farrell completed his surgical residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He is currently involved with the Pennsylvania and Lackawanna Medical Societies, The American College of Surgeons, Alpha Omega Alpha, The National Medical Honor Society and the Keystone Chapter of the American College of Surgeons.
Anthony D. Aquilina, D.O., is Chief Medical Officer at Geisinger Community Medical Center. He has served as Associate Chief Medical Officer, Geisinger Northeast as well as Medical Director, Health Services, Quality and Performance, Geisinger Health Plan. Dr. Aquilina a Pennsylvania State University graduate, received his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, completed his internship at the Osteopathic Medical Center of Philadelphia and his family medicine residency at the Metropolitan Health System in Philadelphia. Dr. Aquilina is a board-certified Family Practitioner and Geriatrician.
