Cancer Institute to Host Event Marking its 20th Anniversary

The Northeast Regional Cancer Institute, a local community-based nonprofit, will mark its 20th Anniversary during a community celebration to be held on September 15, 2011, from 6-8 p.m.

The planning committee for the event, co-chaired by Susan Belin, Dr. Harmar Brereton, Sue Kluger, and Thomas Pugh, has chosen the celebration theme to be, “Easing the Burden of Cancer….Together.” A short program highlighting past accomplishments and discussing the future vision of the Cancer Institute will be the focus of the event, which will take place in the Seasons Ballroom at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs.
The Cancer Institute is unique in that it is a local independent entity with programming focused on community and patient services, epidemiology research, and hospital and practice support services. While maintaining statewide, and at times national, partnerships and collaborative relationships, one-hundred percent of Cancer Institute resources are invested right here in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
The cost of attending the event is $100 per person. A light buffet will be served. For more information or to register to attend, call 1-800-424-6724 or visit www.cancernepa.org.
