C.A.S.U.A.L. Day Kick-Off Set for February 23rd
The Northeast Regional Cancer Institute will host a kick-off celebration for the 13th Annual C.A.S.U.A.L. (Colon cancer Awareness Saves Unlimited Adult Lives) Day on February 23, 2016, at Cusamano’s in Old Forge.
This event serves as the official start to preparations for our colorectal cancer campaign that culminates with a dress down day that will take place on Thursday, March 31, 2016.
Colon and rectal cancers are one of the most frequently diagnosed cancers in areas of northeast Pennsylvania with incidence rates about 16% higher than the United States average. By getting your organization or business involved in C.A.S.U.A.L. Day, you can potentially save the lives of friends, co-workers, and family by raising awareness of proper screening guidelines and preventative measures.
Individuals and businesses interested in participating in C.A.S.U.A.L. Day can do so by selecting someone to serve as a team captain. Team captains will be in charge of ordering and distributing this year’s Dark Heather gray C.A.S.U.A.L. long-sleeve t-shirts for $20, and pins for $5.
On March 31st, dress C.A.S.U.A.L., as determined by your workplace or school, and spread the word about colorectal cancer prevention and screening. All proceeds from C.A.S.U.A.L. Day stay local to support the Cancer Institute colorectal cancer education programs and screenings for low income or uninsured/underinsured individuals.
