Ambassdors Recognize Mohegan Sun for Support
The Board of Ambassadors along with the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute recently presented Michael Bean, President of Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, with a recognition plaque for Mohegan Sun’s generous in-kind contribution to the Board of Ambassador’s “Spirit of Hope Celebration.”
The event, organized by the Board of Ambassadors, raises money for the Cancer Institute’s Patient Navigation Program. The community-based program helps cover the cost of recommended breast, cervical, and colon cancer screenings for low income, uninsured, or underinsured individuals in northeast Pennsylvania. This past year’s “Spirit of Hope Celebration” raised more than $43,000 for the Cancer Institute.
The Northeast Regional Cancer Institute, a local non-profit, has been easing the burden of cancer across the region for more than twenty years through research and education programs. One hundred percent of funds raised through this effort stay in northeast Pennsylvania.
