Student-Run Bake Sale & Fashion Show to Benefit Cancer Institute
Students from McCann School of Business and Technology recently held a bake sale at McCann’s Wilkes-Barre campus to raise money for the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute. The Cancer Institute is a nonprofit community-based agency with offices in Scranton and Wilkes-Barre working to ease the burden of cancer in northeast Pennsylvania. The bake sale is one of two fundraisers the students are hosting this month to benefit Cancer Institute services.
A “Heels to Heal” benefit fashion show will take place on September 26th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Best Western Genetti Hotel Conference Center in Wilkes-Barre. Several vendors, including Ga Bree’s Boutique, Edwardsville; Gerri’s Bridal Shop, Pittston and Savii Formalwear by Sarno & Son, Wilkes-Barre will participate. Tickets are $10 each or $5 for McCann students and can be purchased at the door. Reservations can be made by calling Cristal Murphy at 570-417-3613 or Sandra Morris at 570-235-2230. Proceeds benefit NRCI.
Focusing on community and patient services, hospital and practice support services and cancer surveillance; the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute invests all of its resources in this region.
