Mick’s Barber Shop Raises $4,200 at Buzz Off Cancer 2015

Mick’s Barber Shop in Honesdale, recently hosted Buzz Off Cancer 2015, a special fundraiser that raised $4,200.

Buzz Off Cancer 2015 promoted cancer awareness and encouraged individuals to collect pledges from friends and family in return for having their hair or beard buzzed off. The staff at Mick’s Barber Shop volunteered their time at the biennial event, and other funds were raised through the sale of t-shirts, wristbands, raffle tickets and refreshments.

The proceeds benefit the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute, a local, non-profit organization working to ease the burden of cancer in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The three main program areas that the Cancer Institute focuses on are: community and patient services, hospital and practice support services, and cancer surveillance.
