Co-Chairs Named for 22nd Annual Cancer Survivors Celebration
Theodore W. Uroskie, MD and Elizabeth Zygmunt were recently named co-chairs of the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute’s 22nd annual “Cancer Survivors Celebration.”
Dr. Uroskie, of Clarks Green, is a retired Obstetrician/Gynecologist. He has volunteered for the local Disaster Action Team of the Red Cross, Disaster Health Services of the Red Cross, and the National Disaster Services Human Resources system of the Red Cross. He is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and Hahnemann Medical College (now Drexel University College of Medicine). Dr. Uroskie currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute. This is his first year co-chairing “Cancer Survivors Celebration.”
Ms. Zygmunt, of Moscow, is the editor of the Northeast Pennsylvania Business Journal, a monthly business publication, and the bi-monthly, family-oriented newspaper, The Valley’s Child. She is also a columnist for the Sunday Times/Citizens’ Voice Business weekly section. She currently serves on the board of NEPIRC (Northeastern Pennsylvania Industrial Resource Center) and on the Advisory Committee for the West Side Technical and Career Center in Kingston. She is a graduate of the University of Scranton. Ms. Zygmunt has served as a volunteer at the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute for several years. This is her first year co-chairing “Cancer Survivors Celebration.”
“Cancer Survivors Celebration” is a dual-location event set for Saturday, September 20th at Kirby Park in Wilkes-Barre and Saturday, September 27th at McDade Park in Scranton. The event takes place from 10am – 12pm at both locations and is free of charge. Cancer survivors, their families, and friends, as well as caregivers and healthcare professionals, are invited to attend.
