Danchak, Dewar, and Sewatsky Named Co-Chairs for 10th Annual C.A.S.U.A.L. Day

Peter Danchak, William R. Dewar III, MD, and Mary Finan Sewatsky, MD were recently named co-chairs of the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute 10th Annual C.A.S.U.A.L. (Colon cancer Awareness SavesUnlimited Adult Lives) Day. 

 

Mr. Danchak, of Clarks Summit, is the regional president of the Northeast Pennsylvania region of PNC Bank.  He serves as co-chair of the Pennsylvania Early Learning Investment Commission and is a member of the Executive Leadership Council of Pre-K Counts in Pennsylvania.  He is part of the University of Scranton Board of Regents and an advisory board member for the University of Scranton Kania School of Management.  Mr. Danchak is also a member of the board of directors for numerous other local organizations, including the Cancer Institute.  This is his second year co-chairing C.A.S.U.A.L. Day.

 

Dr. Dewar, of Honesdale, is a Physician and Vice President at Highland Physicians LTD.  He is also Chief of Staff at Wayne Memorial Hospital.  Dr. Dewar serves on professional societies of the American Medical Association, Pennsylvania Medical Society, Wayne-Pike Medical Society, American College of Physicians, and American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.  He is also a member of the Cancer Institute Board of Directors.  This is his first year co-chairing C.A.S.U.A.L. Day.

 

Dr. Sewatsky, of Pittston, is the Chief Medical Officer at Moses Taylor Hospital and an affiliated faculty member at The Commonwealth Medical College.  Dr. Sewatsky serves on the board of directors for the Moses Taylor Foundation, Rural Stroke Initiative, Northeastern Pennsylvania Emergency Medical Services, and the Cancer Institute. This is her first year co-chairing C.A.S.U.A.L. Day.

 

C.A.S.U.A.L. Day, planned for March 21, 2013, is a dress down day to raise awareness for colon cancer in northeastern Pennsylvania.  On this day, participants dress C.A.S.U.A.L. while wearing a specially designed pin and/or custom t-shirt to promote awareness about colon cancer.  All proceeds from the event go towards Cancer Institute efforts to raise colorectal cancer awareness and support colorectal cancer screenings for low income, un/underinsured individuals.  For more information about C.A.S.U.A.L.
