2014 C.A.S.U.A.L. Day Co-Chairs Announced

casual logo webMary Finan Sewatsky, MD and Karen Saunders were recently named co-chairs of the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute’s 11th Annual C.A.S.U.A.L. (Colon cancer Awareness Saves Unlimited Adult Lives) Day.

Dr. Sewatsky, of Pittston, is the Chief Medical Officer at Moses Taylor Hospital and an affiliate faculty member at The Commonwealth Medical College.  Dr. Sewatsky serves on the board of directors for the Moses Taylor Foundation, Rural Stroke Initiative, Northeastern Pennsylvania Emergency Medical Services, and the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute.  This is her second year co-chairing C.A.S.U.A.L. Day.

Ms. Saunders, of Clarks Summit, is the Marketing Manager for NEPA Imaging Center, which has two outpatient radiology facilities in Scranton and Stroudsburg.  Saunders serves as the President of the Board of Directors for the NEPA Chapter of the American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management (AAHAM) and on the Board of Directors of the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute.  This is her third year co-chairing C.A.S.U.A.L. Day.

C.A.S.U.A.L. Day, set for March 27, 2014, is a dress down day to raise awareness for colorectal cancer in northeast Pennsylvania.  On this day, participants dress “casual” while wearing a specially designed pin and/or t-shirt.  All proceeds from the event stay in NEPA and go towards Cancer Institute efforts to raise awareness and support colorectal cancer screenings for low income, un/underinsured individuals.
