Community member, Geoff Musti and his family and friends hosted an Oktoberfest fundraiser on Saturday, September 26, 2015, at Morgan’z Pub and Eatery located at 315 Green Ridge St, Scranton.

The event included a variety of fall beers, food, raffle baskets, and a 50/50 raffle. Geoff and his committee raised $3,855 that will support the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute. The committee hopes to have an annual event next year.

This event was coordinated to honor Geoff’s mother, Patricia Musti. She taught nearly 40 years within the Scranton School District at John Marshall Elementary School in West Scranton. As a 3rd grade teacher, she dedicated her life to her students to assure not only their intellectual development but also their growth as upstanding members of their community. Patricia’s selfless commitment to her profession shaped countless young people and she truly loved her work and the impact she had on each child’s life. Patricia passed away on August 21, 2013, after a lengthy battle with breast cancer.
