Cancer Institute Welcomes New Board Members

Mary Erwine, RN, MSN, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute, announces the recent appointment of Peter J. Danchak, Steven L. Henderson, and Robert Lamson to the Board of Directors.

Peter J. Danchak is the regional president of the Northeast Pennsylvania region of PNC Bank. He received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Scranton.

Mr. Danchak serves as co-chair of the Pennsylvania Early Learning Investment Commission and is a member of the Executive Leadership Council of Pre-K Counts in Pennsylvania. He is part of the University of Scranton Board of Regents and an advisory board member for the University of Scranton Kania School of Management. Mr. Danchak is also a member of the board of directors for numerous other local organizations.

Steven L. Henderson is the Vice President of Operations for Mercy Health Partners. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from Angelo State University.

Mr. Henderson serves on the board of the Texas Safekeeping Trust Company and the TORCH Advocacy Board Committee for Rural Hospitals. He is an annual participant in the Texas Hospital Association Forum.

Robert Lamson is a professional land surveyor at UGI Penn Natural Gas, Inc. He received his associate’s degree in engineering, survey technology from Pennsylvania State University.

Mr. Lamson, who is a cancer survivor, has served as a spokesperson to promote colorectal cancer screening in numerous settings and is a member of the Luzerne County Colorectal Cancer Taskforce. He is the chair of the White Haven United Methodist Church Administrative Council and participates in the White Haven Community Library Building Fund Committee and the White Haven Lions Club Member Scholarship Committee.
