“Buzz Off Cancer” Raises More than $6,000 for Cancer InstituteMick’s Barber Shop, Honesdale, recently hosted a unique event that raised over $6,000 for the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute. The event, called “Buzz Off Cancer,” promoted prostate cancer awareness and encouraged individuals to collect pledges from friends and family in return for having their hair or beard buzzed off. Students from Lakeside Elementary and Wallenpaupack Area Middle School also participated in several ways, including raising money through a talent show and the sale of wristbands.
